Jon is a former Vice President of Asset Management at Caleres, a global footwear company, where he led teams of professionals in real estate, store and office planning, construction, maintenance, and facilities management.
He has over 35 years of retail industry experience, having worked for companies like Lowes Home Centers and Boscov’s Department Stores. He has a keen eye for design and sustainability, and a proven track record of reducing inventory losses, work compensation claims, and workplace violence incidents. He has also led the response to various crises and emergencies, showcasing his skills in loss prevention, safety, and business continuity. He is a strategic planner and collaborator, with a strong financial acumen and a passion for delivering results.
He is a purposeful, innovative, meticulous, and forward-thinking individual, who is always eager to learn new skills and technologies.
He is also a keynote speaker and a published author, with an MBA from Wilmington University and a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University.
Gordon has over 31 years of experience in law enforcement, specializing in complex investigations and operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University in 1985 and managed a multimillion-dollar health and fitness facility after graduation.
He joined the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland in 1988 and was a member of the department’s Quick Response Team. After seven years, he applied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and became a Special Agent in 1995.
Gordon served as the lead agent and Coordinator of the Delaware Joint Violent Crime and Fugitive Task Force, leading numerous investigations and prosecutions. In 2000, he transferred to the San Francisco Division and became a Team Leader on the division's Special Operations Group. He was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent of that group in 2004, managing a multimillion-dollar budget and operation. In 2008, he became a Supervisory Special Agent over the Technical Operations Squad. In 2015, he was promoted to FBI Headquarters and assigned to the agency’s Tactical Operations Section as an electronic and technical specialist. In 2018 he was assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Jacksonville Division.
Gordon's extensive experience extends beyond his domestic based investigative work. He has worked and taught in various locations worldwide, including Serbia, Montenegro, Budapest, Germany, and Tbilisi, Georgia. Moreover, he possesses significant operational, leadership, and coordination experience in large-scale events, having been involved in political conventions such as the RNC and DNC, multiple NFL Super Bowls, PGA events, Major League Baseball All-Star Games, and the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Gordon has also received extensive training in active shooter incident response and prevention, holding certifications as an Assistant Inspector in Place, Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Technically Trained Agent, and FBI Executive Management Training. Additionally, he has been trained by the FBI in Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM).
